Invisalign is a tray system that is custom fit to your teeth. The trays fit over your teeth and move them toward the desired position. You will wear a tray for about two weeks. Once your teeth have adjusted to that position, it’s time to start the next tray.
How Many Trays Do I Need?
At Dr. Gold’s Source Dental, there are two programs of treatment with Invisalign. If your teeth need only mild correction, you could possibly only need 10 trays, or 20 weeks of treatment. A more moderate treatment would need more trays and could extend up to a year or two.
Invisalign has created an orthodontic revolution. Many people prefer it to traditional treatment because:
- They’re virtually unnoticeable.
- There are no wires or metal to scrape or cut your cheeks.
- You can take them out, so it’s easier to clean your teeth.
- They are easy to remove for dental appointments. Progress can be monitored at your appointments.
- Did we mention they’re clear?!
How Should I Clean My Mouth During Treatment?
Excellent oral hygiene is vital during Invisalign treatment. The trays are designed to be in your mouth for 22 hours each day. You will only need to remove them when you eat or drink and for oral hygiene purposes.
Continue to brush and floss your teeth twice a day and gently clean your Invisalign tray with a soft toothbrush and tap water. This will prevent food particles and bacteria from building up around your teeth or in the aligner.
The Next Steps
If you decide that you want to proceed with Invisalign clear braces, we will complete a digital scan of your teeth and bite in order to custom fit your trays. The scan will also let us determine how your teeth need to move to arrive at your desired smile. You’ll need to stop by our Oshawa office about every 4 weeks so we can monitor your progress.
Is Financing Available?
At Dr. Gold’s Source Dental, when you pay up front for your Invisalign treatment, we provide you with a complimentary whitening treatment to jumpstart your smile transformation. If you are unable to pay for your treatment out of pocket, that’s okay too! We work with DentoPlan, a third party lender, which can help you pay for your treatment in installments.
